Krakow Airport: how to get to and from the city

Krakow, the former capital of Poland, impresses tourists with its picturesque streets, majestic castles and historical monuments. Gothic cathedrals seem to reach the heavens, dragon shadows dance on the cobblestones, and the aroma of Krakow's obwianeks wafts through the streets. There is also an airport in Krakow, so let's figure out how and what to do to get there.

How to get from Ukraine to Krakow and vice versa

To travel from Ukraine to Krakow and vice versa, use the INFOBUS service, which offers many routes from Ukraine to Krakow from different cities and regions. On the website or in the app for iOS or Android, you can buy tickets for various types of transport, bus or train to Poland, and a plane if you plan to travel further.

If you are travelling from Ukraine, you can choose a flight that will take you directly to the airport on the INFOBUS website or app. However, if you have some free time, visit Krakow first and you won't regret it.

The airport is located 15 km from the city centre and can be reached by public transport, train, taxi or shuttle service if it is provided by the hotel where you are staying.

The taxi and shuttle services are self-explanatory, but the information on buses and railways is worth exploring in more detail.

Public transport

You need to look for buses that go to Krakow Airport. Namely:

 1. №209:

Departure: Salwator 05 (every hour from 4:00 to 23:00).

Interval: 60 minutes.

Please note: the final stop is Mnikow Skaly (airport - intermediate).

You can also wait at the following stops: Bielany Szkola 02, Na Krepaku 02, Przegorzaly Obwodnica 02, Glinnik 02, Benedyktowicza 02, Wodociagowa 02, Malczewskiego 02.

 2. №300:

Route: Os. Podwawelskie - Krakow Airport.

Interval: 30 minutes (from 4:30 to 22:30).

From the airport: 5:00 - 23:00.

Advantages: convenient route, runs frequently.

3. №902:

Suitable for those departing at night.

Route: Dworzec Glowny Wschod - Krakow Airport.

Interval: 60 minutes (from 0:00 to 5:00).

Where to buy a ticket:

  • ticket vending machines;
  • mobile applications.

The ticket price depends on the duration of the trip, not the number of times it is used. For example, for 20 minutes on any urban route you will have to pay PLN 4 (full), at a reduced fare - PLN 2. For a 60-minute journey, prepare PLN 6 and PLN 3 if you use a concession. For 24 hours in the city - 17 zlotys, in the suburbs a little more expensive - 22 zlotys. There is also a family fare (2 adults + 3 children): PLN 25.

A 50% discount is available for children under 16 and foreign students.

Train connections

The Krakow Lotnisko/Airport railway station is located directly next to the airport's passenger terminal, which is convenient for travellers. The journey from Krakow to the airport takes only 20-30 minutes. The ticket costs PLN 21 (one way) and is available at ticket offices, vending machines on the platforms and online.

If you were in a hurry and didn't have time to buy a ticket, don't worry, you can do it directly on the train: from the conductor or from a vending machine, which is quite convenient. At the station you can also check the current train schedule if you are planning other trips to Krakow.

Routes

Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia bus stop:

  • Trains run every 30-60 minutes (from 5:00 to 23:00);
  • They pass through Krakow Glowny (the main railway station).

Stop Krakow Glowny:

  • Night buses (at 3:20 and 4:30);
  • Some daytime services.

In the opposite direction:

  • Airport - Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia (first one at 4:00, last one at 22:00);
  • Airport - Krakow Glowny (shortened route) - from 9:47 to 0:38

The current timetable is available at the station or online.

For those travelling by car

Krakow Airport is located next to the A4 international motorway, which connects Dresden in Germany to Lviv, through the southern part of Poland (Wroclaw, Katowice, Krakow, and Rzeszow).

There is parking at the airport, but you will have to pay for it.

There are two main types of parking:

  1. Short-term parking. Use it only when you need to stop to pick up or drop off a passenger (you cannot leave the steering wheel to avoid getting a fine). There are also 2 parking spaces along the main road, where you will have to pay PLN 10 for every 10 minutes of parking.
  2. Long-term parking. If you plan to leave your car for a long period of time, you can use any of the three airport car parks: multi-level P1 or ground P2 and P3. They are located near the terminal, and payment is made online or directly on site.

Wherever you go, INFOBUS is always there to make your journey as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. You can book and buy a bus, train or plane ticket online on the website or in the mobile app at any convenient time.

If you have any questions, the INFOBUS round-the-clock support team will always be happy to help you sort everything out.

Subscribe to our social networks (Facebook, Instagram) and turn on notifications to be the first to receive notifications about new promotions!

Sincerely, INFOBUS!
